No. Classic restoration and optional AI enhancement both run in your browser. Enabling AI downloads a model, but your photo is not included in that request.

Why does the tool not automatically colorize black-and-white photos?

Automatic colorization guesses clothing, skin, and environmental colors. This first version prioritizes authenticity and only revives colors already present in the source.

Can AI restoration change how a person looks?

The AI stage here focuses on 2× super-resolution, but any enhancement can alter details. Compare eyes, teeth, wrinkles, and jewelry before saving.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Classic restoration has the broadest support; devices without WebGPU use a slower compatibility mode. Large photos are resized first to keep memory use safe.
